Something bothers me about the fact that GP sells the ebauche of such complicated and unique movements to third parties. In my eyes it has a degrading effect on those movement. If you're capable as a manufacturer of making movements as the three bridge tourbillon and, if indeed GP is highly involved, the opera series you have to cherish it. Making those movements available for other companies effect the uniqueness and the value those movement have for the company that makes it. Imagine the datograph movement used by other brands.

Maybe that's even the reason GP is discrete in their information about the various brands that uses their movements. Funny, going in one day from thinking GP is proud of the fact that many other companies use their movements to thinking they might even keep it quiet on purpose. That probably what this forum is all about

Joram

and it seems like it's a GP inhouse movement. However that seems a little bit unbelievable to be. It would mean GP is capable of making those highly complicated movements not only for their own Opera serie, but also for the UN Genghis Khan and for the Par...

Did you imply that GP's movement is made by CC? Can you clarify your ideas?

First of all let me say I'm not sure my ideas are indeed correct. I've heard three things: The GP opera movement is made inhouse, the Ghengis Kahn is developed in UN's very own development office and is thus inhouse and C. Claret is responsible for both m...

Hi, Joram, I would not say that all companies that use the Three Golden Bridges base, in whatever state it is delivered by GP, automatically acknowledge or publicize the origins of the base, nor would I be comfortable to accept the statement that GP would...

Personally, I sense that GP is proud of being a significant ebauche supplier to many houses. At the same time, mutual understanding prohibits GP from discussing the issue. And If GP comes clean on this, they risk offending customers, who may not order aga...

GP definitely not only produces their own Three Golden Bridges Tourbillon movements,

they supply them in various states of finish and assembly to others, including C. Claret. The relationship of Claret to GP (and other real manufactures ) is such that I would not be surprised if they not only did additional customizing to the base GP supp...
