Maybe Claret does the repeater work
Jun 29, 2002,04:16 AM
Hi JGV,
It seems like the Opera II is an extension of the 3-Gold Bridges tourbillon movement in some ways. It shares the same upside down characteristics at least and I believe GP makes those movements in-house.
Possibly Claret is adding the repeater? Alternately, maybe Claret is simply (an odd choice of words) adding the jaquemarts to the Genghis Khan? That GP produces tourbillons in-house is not hard to imagine but I don't know about the repeating work.

Hi, Joram, I would not say that all companies that use the Three Golden Bridges base, in whatever state it is delivered by GP, automatically acknowledge or publicize the origins of the base, nor would I be comfortable to accept the statement that GP would...
Thanks for the insight...

Something bothers me about the fact that GP sells the ebauche of such complicated and unique movements to third parties. In my eyes it has a degrading effect on those movement. If you're capable as a manufacturer of making movements as the three bridge to...

Personally, I sense that GP is proud of being a significant ebauche supplier to many houses. At the same time, mutual understanding prohibits GP from discussing the issue. And If GP comes clean on this, they risk offending customers, who may not order aga...
