Hello.
Well, i understand. What i?ve noticed is that the watches of some
brands are all of them very expensive, brands like AP, Patek
Philippe, etc. But in the case of Girard Perregaux, i could see a
wide range of prices, since the most cheap prices until high prices
like 13,000 U.S dollars.
Obviously the highest are recent models and more complicated, so, can
we imply that GP makes a wide variety of quality watches? i mean, my
point is when you have two GP models, for example, one 60?s Gyromatic
in perfect conditions and an automatic "Classique Elegance"
recent and simple model (these are posted), so which are the quality differences between
these two models?, both of them from the same manufacture, both
automatic, both non complicated movements, one older than other but
in the price much more devaluated than the other; and for other
brands it is not the case, i could see some Patek Philippe in a
regular (i mean regular with small scratches, used leather straps,
dial and hands with some micro fragments, etc.) conditions, non
complicated movements in a prices like $5,000 to $7,000 U.S dollars
and these are not limited editions models, regular models like
Calatrava.
Just to recap, i would like to make my complete question: why some
used GP models in regular conditions are in prices like $200 U.S
dollars and why the new ones (like the Classique Elegance mentioned)
are in $2,750 U.S dollars? (in some webpages which sell fine swiss
watches) why do we have such differences? why other brands keep the
range of the prices? no matter they are new or used watches.
As i understand Peter, the price tell us the amount of hand work that
fine watches have, but in this case i am very confused, it seems to
not have sense for me.
I hope somebody answer my quesion, thank you very much.
Regards.
Alberto.
