Question

Hello.

I just entered to an aunctions webpage, i found that there are some brands very expensive no matter they are old watches, in some cases scratched on the case or cristal, but the price?....uffff, very expensive, brands like Vacheron Constantin or Patek Philippe.

Honestly, some watches are not far different from others brands like Jaeger le Coultre, Girard Perregaux, etc. Therefore my question emerges again: ?why some brands are much more expensive than others, if in some cases the tiempieces are very similar? taking into account(in my inexpert opinion) the materials, the calibers, the functions, etc. There are some Patek Philippe quartz watches that cost about $7,000 dollars!! Why???

I know that there are many factors, but explain it to me, i am confused, furthermore i am amateur in this watch issues.

Thank you.

Alberto
