Hi Bill,

Although I admit that I am intrigued by the "lightning seconds" mechanism, it would really be a little silly for me to try to take one apart at this point in my schooling. I am almost ready to tackle regular old chronographs without reservations but feeling comfortable going after a piece as complicated as the GP Foudroyante is still quite a ways off. Split seconds mechanisms are characteristicly the most sensitive and challenging complications in all of horology to work on and when you add the lightning seconds on top of that you are very much in territory it would be foolish for me to enter just yet.

Thanks very much for the offer. Your vote of confidence is flattering.

a watchmaking "Growth Experience" I'd rather it not be on one of my watches! But once you have the skills, and supposing I still have the watch, the offer still stands. BTW, is there another installment in your "Day at Watch School" series coming soon? Bi...
