It´s with pleasure to share some more impressions; the pictured unit is one of the prototypes, therefore it´s not representing the final stage and execution. Some cosmetic details are subject of change and we´ll have a closer look at the production version very shortly - it still may give an idea of how much work went into these.
And while we´re on it, i´d like to grab the chance to introduce (again) the genius behind.
Nicolas Dehon is a very talented watchmaker and engineer, who was in charge of the stunning satellite wheel system that empowers the mesmerizing JEANRICHARD Time Square.
Nicolas is a most friendly person and obviously not just talented, but extremely creative as well!
And now onto one of his late developments, the MICROVAR free-sprung escapement:
As noted earlier, the MICROVAR free-sprung balance will NOT be available in a three-hands model that soon; this for dimensional differences (it doesn´t fit the conventional GP3XXX caliber range without changes) and because of production costs. The pictured prototype is such only!
MICROVAR free-sprung balance and cock, with swan neck regulation device
There´s more good news anyway!
Together with the MICROVAR free-sprung balance, GP invented a swan-neck-shaped regulation device to adjust the beat of the watch.
This device is going to be implemented in all future models carrying a GP manufacture-made movement starting from 2009:
I do hope that´s increasing your interest as to what we´ll see next week - and i´m totally sure it will be stunning (even considering GP´s mighty dual-axis tourbillon).
Greetings from Germany,
Peter
