GP 2004: The Haute Horlogerie line (in +50 pictures...)
May 09, 2004,05:05 AM
Dear enthusiasts and friends of Girard-Perregaux,
i do hope what takes longer to do will be the better result, so please accept my excuses for being delayed in what actually is an outstanding pleasure for me to introduce:
The Haute Horlogerie line 2004
The overview is not complete, as f.e. the Foudroyante pieces are missing. But i tried to focus on pieces that are seldom seen here and in "real life"; in order to keep this somewhat workable, i?ll follow up with more pictures and impressions of each of the pieces to follow:
- The Tourbillon Magistral
While the Tourbillon Magistral actually is a 2003 piece, this year the first working prototype was proudly presented at the Girard-Perregaux booth. It surely is a marvellous and most unique piece, since Sonnerie movements are probably the most complicated species to create and this one even comes with a Tourbillon.
- The Opera Three
Opera Three is a marvellous piece as well and was introduced in 2003; i really do hope you enjoy it as well, especially as there are some interesting close-up pictures!
- The "Tribute To Enzo Ferrari" Tourbillon Chronograph Perpetual Calendar
This is a HOT new piece of 2004, presented only a few weeks ago in Shanghai/China. While we had some extensive coverage here both of the presentation event and the watch (click here), there are some interesting details and impressions of especially the completely new movement finish. Please have a look, as GP?s largest Haute Horlogerie piece is a most stunning watch!
- The automatic Tourbillon Under Three Gold Bridges, "sportive" case
This most beautiful watch is a classic among the Haute Horlogerie pieces and comes with GP?s wonderful sportive case.
- The automatic Tourbillon Under Three Gold Bridges, sceleton version, "classic" case
If there is ONE, then it is THIS; now again available in the very classic case that follows the lines of vintage pocket watch cases. My personal dream piece.
- The automatic Tourbillon Under Three Gold Bridges, Vintage45 XXL case
This version was probably THE surprise by Girard-Perregaux in 2003; pictured is the very first Vintage45 3-Bridges Tourbillon, so while this is not a completely new model, there are some differences that may be interesting.
And i know it to be the dream piece for quite some enthusiasts around (Ed? )
- The Vintage45 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph
Introduced in 2003, the Vintage45 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph is now being delivered. With the chance to include pictures, it?s an important model in the Haute Horlogerie line and you hopefully enjoy the impressions.
- The brand new Vintage45 Perpetual Calendar
This is BIG news; the Vintage45 XXL case sports a Perpetual Calendar that is NOT a tourbillon. I know it?s been a piece quite some asked for and i?m sure it will become a dream piece of many; this model (as some of the others) benefits from the updated and improved dials. So have a look. But be aware - this beauty tends to steal hearts
- The Vintage45 Perpetual Calendar with Tourbillon Under Three Gold Bridges
A small word makes a HUGE difference
This watch is fantastic; for me, it?s among the most beautiful new pieces of the SIHH and Baselshow.
There are many pictures and detail shots that probably speak for themselves, don?t miss them!
- The Richeville Perpetual Calendar
The Richeville Perpetual is a new introduction in 2004 and in my eyes, a PERFECT addition to the Haute Horlogerie line. It is a most beautiful piece, with a new dial and a most elegant look. And it?s inner qualities do not stand behind it?s outer appearance, as you will see a huge movement shot.
So i?m in hope it will find many lovers. Apparently, it did already (having a look a few posts below)
- The Richeville Single-Bridge Tourbillon
You may have seen the press picture Roger was so nice to post; not only there will be a much larger one, but larger pictures and detail shots as well.
It?s hard to escape it?s beauty, so have a look!
I hope you will enjoy and i?m much looking forward to read your thoughts and comments!
Greetings from germany,
Peter
