a tiny detail shown ongoing progression

Dec 06, 2009,23:21 PM

I only notice this little detail sunday afternoon after my postingsmile At first i thought there may be a crack on the bottom of the sapphire bridge, but ruled out such possibility after a closer look as it seem purposeful with a tiny screw shiny beneath.  i did some digging of other 3 bridges variants and conclude:

Big applause to the strong silent GP guyssmile

For so long, the movement itself serves as the dial for all the 3 bridges,  i can only imagine as the drill holes were used to be covered by the metal bridges over the decades, imagining some serious work to be done to give a clean presentation!

What started, a tiny arc that only shown in certain angle aroused my interest to dig further

the original 3 bridge movement part that shows all the drill holes used to be hidden under metal bridges even as it appears to be the bottom plate

the pic of the original 2006 concept, notice there were more holes

Dje's factory visit pic some time ago, notice there were still holes visible, this example has many detail different to mine which shown constant improvements
over time and makes each example even more unique~

another pic of the 2006 concept with more holes

thought these r interesting, or maybe i m totally wrong...

cheers,
Ed~

I like it a lot! The shape of the 3 transparent bridges makes a nice echo to this angular case. Great Job, indeed! Enjoy! Best, Nicolas This message has been edited by amanico on 2009-12-05 22:34:00

lien, Is that 'precious' sapphire for the bridges? I wonder if they are as easy/difficult to make as the metal ones? Certainly, not a lot of 'black polishing' required. I also was very excited when I read "elves". I thought you were going to report on the...
