A look into the Memovox watchbox.. Some fresh shots of the members. :))

Friends,
as several of my Memovoxes have been for a light service,
and recently have come back, I re-juggled a bit my watchbox for them.

Also am happy, that they are back and in very good shape.

It appeared a good occasion to have some fresh pics made and do a
little group-shooting, also.

Several of you may know, that one of my main JLC Vintage emphasis points
was/is on the Memos, starting from the late 50ies, 60ies,
then stretching into the early 80ies, and thereby also
encompassing the crazy times of the funky 70ies..

Thus, without further ado, let's start with the little journey through
my Memo watchbox a bit:

I'll start with one of my most loved Memovox pieces:
It is a classic, which I had been looking for quite some time,
before it crossed my way, some 5 years ago by coincidence.

To complete the pair, a white version is required,


White, "Ebene" type E 855

The name from her Ebony type indices, (like wood) within the metal indices.
( Mine has long indices, but there also were short indices, such as one
from our friend Blomman)

The 855 was a widely produced and distributed model, in various
metals, various colors, as well.
It carries caliber 825, an automatic bumper movement with date

My personal 855 favs have remained these two:
black & white, Yin & Yang..

Further we progress into the turbulent, funky 70 ies,
also full of exuberant case shapes, designs:
Much then was daring and unusual.

We find some really characteristic cases and watches, also
within JLC:

Here presenting you with the square-shaped, "TV-screen" like
case, and in a two- tone color-pattern

Even more masculine shapes, sporty cases were next:
with strong appeal, with being quite charming, nevertheless:



E 872, strong case, round " edges", but
real pleasure on the wrist, wearing very comfy..

Next another "curvy", very sophisticated version,
one having the more modern Cal 916, with greater
accuracy.

It's a watch which has been advertised in a number of catalogs,
brochures, a watch so very 70ies, with a note of chic and splendor.

But still promoted, even as a sports watch, being able to do
"..split second measurements", see the subsecond indices



E 861, "the watch as your companion", from sporty to fancy

Finally for the 70 ies, at least, a very unusual piece, made for the
US market, labelled LC with a daring shape and appeal, curves
& indices:



LC 3072: fancy character, unusual color scheme,
round shiny indices, matched by the stingray strap's twinkle

Let's now enter a time of already more advanced movements,
such as here, in the multi-version / multi color E 875, some
of which carry the engraved logo of " Speedbeat", beating
with higher frequency of 28800.

Also here, a plentiful conundrum of versions and colors,
bi-color ( blue/ white), blue/blue, white/silver just to name a few..

I guess, I'll stop here - as you have realized,

I have not touched on the modern Memovoxes
( eg: MCM, Polaris or DSAs), as they are different, pretty much;

I have also spared the Vintage diver MMVs, as they
are a different line and also, as I don't have any
Vintage Diver Memovoxes..

- others here are much more dignified and able to
exhibit some of their Diver MMV treasures..
