.. First of course, is the sheer size & thickness, also. Despite the fact,
GP tried very hard, by masterful lug-curving to at least visually " shrink" it a tiny bit,
I maintain, that there is a border between, what can be done and what
should be done.. -
I know, I am in no position at all to judge as a potential user,
and it will remain a completely theoretical exercise..
Second, the caseback and the mismatch between the "smallish"
movement, vs case and its covering plates, as well as what one can see,
does not really excite me, honestly...
Currently, not enough finesse, there, also..
Third, yes the grid-type pattern on the dial has something going for,
as it delivers some shine-through of some inner ( moving ?) parts of
the movement, causing an amelioration of the otherwise " big, vast surface.
Lastly, if I think about it conceptually, if such a piece ( just for 10
individuals ) would only be worn, more or less for oneself, in the
seclusion of home or a safe room, is a bit too eclectic for me..
Nevertheless, I liked more the RG version of the Tri-Axial,
and the play of the turning & svivelling Tri-axial Tourbi
indeed will add to some mesmerization,
- but this would not be enough for me.
Having made these dwellings, please don't get me wrong,
but GP, with their skill, courage and craftmanship
would have had and does have other fascinating offers for their marvels..
Finally, let me say, it sure is an interesting experiment and maybe showcase,
of how Haute Horlogerie can be exuberant and maybe being too much !
"Not all for one, and neither one for all ", but thanks a lot for giving us
your splendid pictorial and personal view..
In the very end, yes - Truth will be in the eye of the Beholder !
Just some of my very humble 0,02 cents..
Best, hs
