Hmmm.. Not that easy.. Either tic-tac I would rate excellent & would love to have.. ;)

- Yes, the smaller case scores with more versatility, but the new one apparently
will wear smaller due to the lug-shaping..

- I am a real fan of the new dial, with the longitude/ Latitude plus the resulting
pattern of, well , tiles. - Very ' á propos' for a WT/ Traveller..

- +1 on the bit more interesting function of the Chronograph, rather than the PR, in the
previous version. - Further to that, I would have rather loved a 2nd Time-zone, also
In exchange for the Chrono - Why ? - First, I just love that useful indication
( GMT or just dual time zone) .

- On the other hand, in my humble opinion, the Chrono functionality in fact is a rather rarely used
function, and for me, is more a sort of remnant of the past..
- I would maintain, that nowadays actual need for a Chrono function is less frequent, than the
number of Chrono- pieces by the various brands might suggest..

Although I do own several Chronos, this complication is more an element of tribute
vs former times, and I almost take it just as a design feature, giving a sportive element
to the timepiece - but that's just my personal assessment here.
The dial composition on the new one, I consider really balanced, beautifully
solved, although the missing ( applied) numbers may need a bit of a feature,
to get used to, when reading time.

All the other descriptors of this wonderful piece, Nicolas and you have reviewed..

Thus, I could "live" easily with both versions, with slight preference for the new one !

In either case, great offerings by GP ! smile) - Guess, I'll have to try to see one or better both (?), in the real...

Thx for the great pics & the share !

- All these thoughts just as my humble 2 cents...

Best, hs

Girard-Perregaux, Traveller WW TC Pink Gold – a second look

By: blomman Mr Blue : July 14th, 2014-00:01
Friends, Nicolas has already posted a review on this watch. The Traveller WW TC Pink Gold Reference: 49700-52. We have discussed a lot about the new case. Pros and cons. Personally I prefer not to have the extra crown at nine, but in the same time my pers...

Have to agree with you about crowns at the 9 o'clock position. I don't care for it as in some designs it digs too much into the skin. However, this piece does look cool in PG, thanks for sharing the pics! -MW

Thank you for your input, MW! :)

Indeed, it's a very cool watch! :) Best Blomman

I still prefer the former WW TC. Even if the current Traveller has sme good points.

Such as the lack of crown at 9, the dial, and the rotor. But the case of the former version had more elegance. One which was superb, was the version without chronograph, with its smaller case, and, but I am not sure, without date. Best, Nicolas

Yes, the old case is ...

More elegant, but I still think GP made good job upgrading the Traveller. Thank you for your input, my friend. Best Blomman

Is to get both! ;) Now you know why I collect series of a model rather than separate watches.... ;) Best Blomman

I not only prefer the old styled case ...

But I also believe that the gold case is way too heavy for a travel watch. Cheers, Nilo

Afraid of overweight on the airplane...?! ;)

By: blomman Mr Blue : July 14th, 2014-11:17
Well, the Traveller WW tc comes in several different metals: SS, TI, PG - so there are options. But I get your point, Nilo... Not all the time you would like to have a gold watch on your wrist when travelling... Best, my friend Blomman

You know that ...

in this very nice brand, and a great complication. Thank you for this . I feel the old version is more balanced, for me no need for a combined chronograph in a world timer or perpetual. Is the world timer a separate complication placed on top of the movem...
