The new dial and size seems less attractive to me -not having tried any in the wrist-.

I was seriously looking a while ago to the previous automatic version, the beautiful blue dial one; finally my attention went somewhere else, but still keep it in a corner of the heart.
I think I was partly concerned about it looking somehow like others..but that is not necessarily a deal-breaker, a few important chronos with 2 subdials look pretty much alike.

Friends, I just wanted to share one shot of the GP 1966 integrated column-wheel chronograph in PG. A novelty from last year. Such a classic looking watch. Perfect size, 40 mm in diameter and 11.25 mm thick. The inside is equally beautiful, GP 03800! Don't...

I'm still not sure...

I must see it in the flesh I think. Absolutely love the movement, but the dial doesn't speak to me. The framed date window, the hour/minute hands, the markers, just cannot see an improvement over the previous 1966 chronograph.

My thoughts exactly...

CC, you point out exactly my concerns here... Love the manual movement, but the dial on the automatic version speaks much more to me... Let's see Nicolas thoughts on this one when he posts his review. Best Blomman

One of my favorites! :) Well, problem is that most watches reminds us of another watch. A classic two register with blue dial will always reminds us of the most famous two register / blue dial out there... Same for all other watches unless you go for some...

not such a radical "no date" person. I can live with a date window if the rest of the package is well designed, but on the new 1966 Chrono, why on earth put a golden frame around the date ???

+1 on the frame! [nt]

Powerful source! ;) But, you know that his powers are not as strong here in GP land as in JLC...! ;) I agree, the date mess the dial, but not totally. In another design/configuration I think that I even would like the date window... Best, my friend Blomma...
