I was thrilled to read your  from last December piece on the 1930's LadiesGP wristwatch. I bought a very elegant GP ladies wristwatch at an Antiques Fair in Dubilin in the mid '90's  At that time I knew nothing about GP but was attracted by the slimline look of the watch. It was fitted with a springloaded link bracelet which was damaged and the watch itself didn't work, The dealer thought the bracelet was rolled gold but it actually turned out to be 9 ct gold - just as well as I'm allergic to nickle!! To be honest,  I was more impressed by the bracelet than the watch which wasn't running. However when I took it to a jeweller for repair he was very impressed by the watch itself and got it working. I subsequently tracked down someone to repair the springs and have since got many years enjoyment from the watch, but no one  here in Ireland knew much about the brand,  I contacted GP directly get.but they had n't got much info on the origins of the watch. According to the jeweller, the movement is 15 jewels and there is a serial number on the outside of the back of the case,, they dated it as 1932, They thought  GP might have made the movement and then sent it to the UK for mounting in a gold case, Thankfully, with the advent of the internet  (including your site)I have been keeping an eye out for similar GP models but all I kept finding were very impressive men's watches with high tech capability but no reference at all to my pretty little model- until now!!!!The crown (not original) is quite tricky and you have to be very careful when pulling it out to set the time but other wise it keeps great time. I use it as a dress watch. I would like to get the crown replaced with a genuine GP model and also get a proper box for it, Would GP Service do this for me?  I only paid about €160 for it - do you have any idea of it's value? I don't want to sell it but want to make sure it's covered by my insurance as I'd be devastated if I lost it!

I'm not very tech savy so I don't have access to photos bu t will try and take some and post them soon! How can I open the case to get at the movement to photographt it? Do I need any special tools? Any info would be appreciated!
