GP WW.TC Financial - Review

Oct 11, 2009,03:35 AM

After one week, this watch still on my wrist. It has been almost 24/7 so far and still not tired of it. So there must be something very right about this watch to me. Before I bought this piece, i cannot find any reviews on this and therefore here I am, giving a amateur review. This is my very first review and my very first GP. So please kindly bear with me.

Movement..
Mechanical Automatic Winding Movement
In-house Ca.3387. 63 jewels, 28800vph
42 Hours Power Reserve
Decorated with Cotes de Geneva
I personally do not know much about movements. To me, as long as it keeps a accurate time and looks good from the open case back, it is good enough for me. 10/10

Case..
Stainless Steel Casing
Measurement- 43mm X 54mm X 14mm
Weight- 195g (with full bracelet)
Very good size and the bracelet has balanced the case perfectly. The polishing and attention to details are just staggeringly good for the level of asking price. This level of workmanship have to be actually touched and examine in close up degree to be truly appreciated. So, i give it a 10/10.

Dial..
Please refers to photo attached. There a few choices out there to choose from. The combo I selected, to me is the perfect balance for the SS case. The dark grey main dial is very illusive and elegant! This is one of the best looking watch IMHO at this price range. I give it a full 10/10!

Bracelet..
Steel bracelet with twin deployant buckle. Bracelet is extremely well made. Its is among the very best. No sharp edges. Deployant buckle can be a bit difficult to open maybe it is still very new, so this is the only point that has bring down the score from a perfect 10/10 to a 9/10.

Function..

1. Chronograph - Function just like your normal chronograph with push start and stop button and a reset (fly-back) button. The buttons are at times hard to press. It works perfectly when you learn to press it at a 45 degree angle to the case. So it is a 9/10 from me.

2. World Time Function that Indicate simultaneously the world time and the opening hours of the world's major stock markets. This is a wonderfully practical function that i find so useful as i do international trading. Naturally it score a 10/10. ;-)

General..
The watch fit my wrist perfectly. The watch is very well balanced. It is very comfortable. The case and the bracelet has no sharp edges. Note I do not use the chronograph function at all. So the chronograph is only for show plus it does gives the watch a more macho look thats why i chose this watch over the Power Reserve version. However, I find the world time indicator is easy to use and to read. It is one of the main reason why i bought this watch. I am very pleased with my choice. Hope my review will help potential buyers to make their decision more effectively. I am not a professional reviewer. I am just another WIS trying to help other WIS.

Final Score: 58/60=97%

Good luck with your purchase!

Thanks for your thoughts on the new watch. Admittedly, I don't travel for work generally and I have no need for a worldtimer, but they are a useful complication for many people. Congrats on your new purchase! It looks great on your wrist! Cheers, Daos

The WW TC is one of these watches I miss a lot.

And your review doesn't help me to forget it! It is perfect on your wrist! The WT complication is superbly executed on this watch, I find, and is one of my very fav WT watch, just after the PP 5110 / 5130. Nice job, Mate! Best, and thanks for sharing it w...

Great choice!

It's a wonderful watch. One of the most popular GPs around. I think that's a limited edition?

Thanks for the review and the excellent photos!

It's a great watch!! I miss mine already having just sold my Rose Gold one... Unfortunately I had to consolidate my collection (trying to narrow to within 5 particular brands instead of branching out to everything) so sadly the ww.tc had to go.
