The Bautte pieces are interesting, in that they come with different techniques of enamelling and other decoration.
From Antiquorum archives:

Rossel & Fils, Succrs de J. F. Bautte & Co., Gen?ve, No. 63339, circa 1850. Fine 18K gold and enamel cabriolet fob watch.
C. Three-body, Outer: the bezels with dark blue, light blue, red and white geometric champlev? enamel decoration, the back panel with multi-colored geometric champlev? enamel. Inner: four-body, concave bezels, the back panel corresponding to the outer case. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with technical details. The outer case is made in such a way that the watch can revolve inside the case in order to be used either as an open face or as a hunting-cased watch



M?B (Moulini? & Bautte), Gen?ve, made for the Chinese market circa 1820. Very fine and rare, 18K gold, pearl-set pendant watch with matching key.
C. two-body, "knife edge", entirely set with graduated half pearls forming a "sunburst? pattern on the back cover.D. gold, half-pearl set Roman numerals, outer half-pearl-set minute divisions, winding aperture at 3 o?clock.



Bautte & Moynier, Geneva, No. 37159, circa 1825.Fine, quarter repeating, hunting-cased, 18K gold and enamel watch.
C. four-body, "Empire", entirely decorated with floral and foliate pattern with champlev? black enamel, goldhinged cuvette. D. silver, with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, engine-turned center. Blued steel"Breguet" hands.



J.(ean) F.(ran?ois) Bautte & Cie. ? Gen?ve, No. 67878, circa 1840. Very fine and extremely rare, extra-thin,18K gold and enamel, lady?s miniature watch with fitted tortoiseshell box.
C. Four-body with ribbed band and polished bezel, the back chased with flowers and foliage, dark blue enamel groundand opalescent enamel flowers. Hinged gold cuvette.
Diameter: 23.5mm (only, in that time!!!)

Rossel & Fils, successors de J. F. Bautte ? Gen?ve, No. 80918. Made circa 1860. Fine 18K gold and enamel, rose diamond-set folding lorgnette with concealed watch.
C. Spring-loaded front cover decorated with a rose diamond-set pattern on translucent imperial blue guillocheenamel ground, back and handle engraved with foliate strapwork against an engine-turned background.
The measurements are 83 x 22 mm only!

One question though; are GP and JeanRichard housed in the same building. I actually recently saw a GMT model and was quite impressed and I feel that the price is quite reasonable. Any info on this model? thanks again cheers joe

Hi Joe, things are a bit different: GP is located in the "Moyen" factory as far as production is concerned, otherwise in the "blue building" and Villa Marguerite. JeanRichard is located mainly in Villa JeanRichard, including the development and administra...

Its very sad that no one is doing such elaborate casings anymore. I really enjoyed that. Hope I'll be able to "find" one ..one day.....thanks again cheers joe
