Girard Perregaux 9086 Blue Chronometer HF: I've got Blommanized.

Dec 15, 2014,02:15 AM

Blomman wrote it, it is not a version you will see everyday... I am looking at the vintage GP market for some years, now, and I never saw one. I didn't even know the Blue dialed version existed!

To tell the truth, a silver dial in very nice condition would make my day, but the blue would be a delicious cherry.

The case is typical from the 70ies, somewhere between the square and the round, the dial is sober, but with some presence, and even the date doesn't bother that much on that one.

As for the movement, well, it is a Chronometer!

Here are the two pictures I took from Blomman's one.

Yes, I've got Blommanized.   wink

Best,

Nicolas

A couple of things that helped me a lot - A) I have been "scouting" the brand for a long time before I started to actually build my collection. B) Information from the Manufacture. It would have taken me forever to get where I am now (still a long way to ...

In this brand, yes. Others, no..... [nt]

Lemania? With how many TG 195 and the Big Swedish Chrono 2 counters?

Zenith with a very nice S 58? Omega with some excellent CK 2913 / 2914? Eterna and the Kontiki? Well, yes, you still have to explore Blancpain, VC, Longines, and a few others, but you go fast, Coyotee! Best, Bip Bip...

One or two pieces from a brand doesn't ....

And when you are lucky enough to see one with this attractive blue dial, but also in this top condition, there is no way out: the vintage GP virus starts to grow in you. Thank you to both of you Nico and blomman for giving us this opportunity here to disc...

I have to respectfully disagree. I've owned or had in my hands a dozen Gyromatic Chronometer HFs. The only ones considered rare are first generation ones still with box and papers with or without date and in general Gyromatic HFs without date. Post 1968 a...

..GPs are rare birds, generally ! While I've got the impression, there are so many variants & species shown by you. Especially nothing on the Vintage Terrotory, but also new ones are quite seldomly seen with AD's So there is a discrepancy between the know...

And I thought Sweden was behind when it comes to watches.....
