Tip of the Week #23: What do the Eiffel Tower and the Tourbillon with three gold Bridges have in common?
Both were made for the Universal Exhibition of Paris in 1889!
Two elements give the Tourbillon with three gold Bridges its uniqueness:
- No other manufactory-made watch today enjoys such a long heritage: the first Tourbillon with three gold Bridges dates from 1889.
- The movement is not only the technical part of the watch, but an integral part of its design, to the extent of being an identifying feature: a Girard-Perregaux Tourbillon with three gold Bridges is instantly recognizable. There is no need to check the Brand printed on the dial or engraved on the movement!
