Tip of the Week #103 The original Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945
The original
Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 which debuted under the name ‘reference 5420’ was
powered by the GP91 movement distinguished in particular by the quality of its
finishes and gold stone settings.
This
movement presented a noticeable feature: the gear train bridge had a three
arrow shaped design as a reminder of Constant Girard’s Tourbillon with three
Bridges. However, this feature was purely decorative, being in fact only a
single bridge!

A funny coincidence which made me smile.... The Ref number 5420. While the Royal Oak ref number is 5402. ;) Best, Nicolas.
I would agree!

Ciao Giuseppe ...
Ah, Giuseppe! :)

Ref 5418

is the all stainless steel model. I was sniped on a mint example by another Purist while trying to buy it and I've never seen another mint condition 5418. Same dial as the 5420, but steel godrons, not gold.

By: robert11a2001 : October 19th, 2014-11:32
Ecco qualche foto. Ciao Giuseppe ...
What a fantastic case! :)

Very nice Eterna!
By: blomman Mr Blue : August 27th, 2018-11:59
Not aware of any official collaboration between GP and Eterna... But at this point in time, many brands used the same case makers for their watches. So often you see similar or even same cases cross brands. For example, look at JLC Deep Sea Alarm E 857, G...
