'Gyromatic' is one of those words heard so often that it becomes familiar and you sort of know so well. Then, you are asked where it comes from.....Silence. Bottom line is that I did not know really.
Now I do.
If only someone could tell me why "DateJust", my life would be complete.....

Friends, Have you ever wondered why Girard-Perregaux used to call their watches Gyromatic? If you have you might find this sketch interesting. Look at the left hand side; you see the two GYRO-WHEELS (1488). Gyro + Matic hence the automatic movement. Next ...

I would not have guessed that but then again, my grammar is English-based but I suppose that in French that would make sense......just date. "I drove a red car" vs. "An automobile rouge, drove I". Thanks, MTF
