Laureato EVO 3 Ti

Jul 11, 2014,00:03 AM

Friends,

Not long ago I had the chance to see the Laureato EVO 3 in titanium.

I only had seen it in photos earlier and was very surprised by its elegance!

In photos it’s easy to put it in the “big, bulky, sports watch” category…

Yes, it is big – 44 mm in diameter and 15 mm thick.

But, if you look closer you will actually see that it is very balanced and sophisticated with a lot of very elegant details!

Date dial on top, 24 hours indicator at 9 o'clock, running seconds at 3 and 12 hours chronograph at bottom.

Chronograph minutes and seconds both in center – quite unusual.

Screw down crown and pushers.

The Laureato was discontinued in 2012, but we all know what came out from that line in the end…

You can’t miss the DNA that went into the Chrono Hawk.

The journey and change the Laureato made from the start in 1975 to 2012 is a very interesting chapter in the GP history. I will have to dig deeper into that one day!

Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy these pics…

Best

Blomman

I'm a big fan of the Evo2 Chronograph. I do prefer the Steel version with the red hands over the Ti with yellow. I also like the more symmetrical look with the date dial being the same style as the other 3 dials. Here is a quick look at my Evo3 in Steel o...

That is a great combo, CC! :)

Sophistication of details, IMO. Yes, this is anothe stunning version of the Laureto! Personally I prefer big date before dial date... Thank you for the reminder of this one. Best Blomman

A very cool watch. I let mine go because it was surprisingly not too comfortable

On MY wrist. I had the same version than the one shown by CC... But I much prefer it to the Hawk Chrono. While I love the Sea Hawk... Go figure why... Best, Nicolas

Comfort

I had the same problem with comfort, but after I changed the deployment buckle to a Pin buckle, it is now perfectly comfy, i would say "Crown Comfort" :D

That goes for most watches...

I have changed on practically all my watches from folding to pin due the comfort. Best Blomman

You had the Laureato?

Quick question

 By: eelstub : July 11th, 2014-12:50
I have seen the EVO chrono before and like the look of it, even if it is a bit 'busy'. However, I never figured out how you read off the first few minutes of the central minutes counter. Am I missing something?

You don't....

The minute track is missing between 55 - 05 due to the GP logo. One flaw I not that found of... Best Blomman
