Some better pictures of the Girard Perregaux Gyrodate.

We recently discussed this Watch, but I was not happy with my pictures, taken with the Leica D Lux 6. Now that the correct setting have been done, I felt the need to take another series of pictures of this very original and perhaps unique Watch.

Unique in the meaning that In don't know any other Watch with that astute system of telling the date, to be clear.

Let's start with a macro of the dial, to show its grained finish.

Now the pictures of the whole Watch:

The case is ( it is a guess estimate ) 36 mm big. The black dial gives a lot of presence to the Watch. I really love the Red Sundays ( S ) and the shape of the bezel.

Another nice detail, the applied indexes at 6, 9 and 12 o clock.

The case is very " macho ", I find, and in this specimen, the bevels are intact.

A nice time capsule!

There was, from what I see on the booklet, a chronometric version, with the 36 000 alternances movement.

The date is not quick setting, you have to go forward and backward between 9 PM and 3 AM to change it.

Best,

Nicolas

I've seen a couple of these on eBay and they have a calibre 42 based chronometer movement if the HF dial is present. On the dial, the Sundays are marked by red S's, the date window is framed by the same colour as the indexes and they have squared hands as...

Thanks! [nt]
