Buckle up! :)

Friends, Those of you that have read me over at other parts of the forum know my fascination about buckles! A detail about our beloved watches that often is "forgotten" or not mentioned... I like to share some of the different GP buckles types I have. Sti...

I would love to find the second one from the left for my Gyromatic!

Funny how it is similar to JC buckles from the same era! Best, Nicolas

Ah, that one is the one hardest to find in good size!

I don't know why, but to find 16 or 18 mm is hard! Several other brands used to have similar applied logo during this time period. Zenith, Omega, Rolex, Certina, Tissot, ...... And some still do! :) Best Blomman

Me and my luck. :))) [nt]

Love vintage buckles

I have seen several, but still not 100% sure if they are correct... Do you have any documentation that shows this version? Best Blomman

I don't

but it was attached to a vintage dress watch I bought that was very much in original condition, so I'm fairly sure it is real and correct. Also the gold-plating is of very high quality as you would expect. I have seen similar style on sale, but they look ...

18-14mm strap and 14mm buckle. Hard to find :( I know of a buckle like this in 12mm for sale, and it may be possible to find a 18-12 vintage strap. PM me if you want to get the link for the 12mm buckle. CC

Thanks, CC, but I really need to find a 14 mm buckle.

I know, I already lived that with my vintage JLCs... These tappered straps make the hunt for the right buckle very tough! Best, Nicolas

Ok

maybe I buy the 12mm buckle, who knows, might come in handy one day ;) CC

 By: crown comfort : January 31st, 2015-10:12
ok, I bought the 12mm buckle and also bought a 18-12 mm vintage GP strap. Will show some photos when it is here, I think it will look fine with one of the 33/34mm watches.

I think 14 mm is original...

But I would prefer a 16 mm - easier to find straps! :) Best Blomman ...

Great array of buckles, CC!

I am not overly exited about 14 mm buckles - 1 hard to find straps, 2 the strap gets too thin for my 18.5 cm wrist... Yes, the applied logo type is the one I like the most - and need the most! Have several, but need many more... Best Blomman

14mm

 By: crown comfort : January 31st, 2015-10:11
I really like the 14mm more than the 16mm on the 60ties style buckle. Especially, those smaller watches with the 18mm lugs are great looking on a tapered strap. The 16mm buckle is more for the watches with 19mm lugs, I think. Anyways, same here, I need an...

Your vintage journey really took off! :)
