Girard-Perregaux Sea Hawk, the origins

Friends, yesterday, I showed you the bold, masculine Sea Hawk III from the current collection. With its 44mm a real beast. We also had looked quite a bit at the Sea Hawk II from the 00ies, the Sea Hawk I (7100) from the late 80ies, early 90ies and also at...

Very, very nice! :)

Congrats, CC! Yes, the dial design/layout on this one is very nice and interesting! I wonder if it would work on a larger watch, let's say 38 mm case? Best Blomman

Thx, my friend

Yes, I think this dial could work slightly larger, maybe with a modified case with a thicker bezel. Would probably leave it at 35-36mm.

Yes, 35 - 26 mm would be enough....

But GP have a 38 mm GP 1966 case.... Best Blomman

Very cool!

Another great historic piece. You and Blomman are killing it!

Hello CC !.. What a charming SeaHawk !.. Really started to like these unobtrusive eearly pieces.. What I somehow wonder :..

.. When in fact did the image & appeal for the SeaHawk change character ? ( I have few ads for the early war times, so I tend to assume, definitely post WW II. Finally, I\'ll chip in the one I own, which you know.. I love the classic appeal of this piece....

It is an interesting discovery for sure

and yours is equally splendid. As for the change from more dressy to proper diver look. The Sea Hawk has been rather dressy well into the 70ies. As you know, since 1957, GP also had the Deep Diver line which continued into the 70ies covering the sportier ...

Really nice to see the roots of an iconic and now legendary watch
