By: blomman Mr Blue : August 26th, 2014-02:58
Friends, You all know that when I find a watch I really like, I try to find as much information about the watch as possible… The GP 8867 is no exception to this rule. As I pointed out in my review, the case is very similar to some of the other well-known ...
Great details and very informative

you continue to be a great inspiration and the 8867 is also my favourite vintage GP Deep Diver. I'm on the look, but I'm very patient to find THE right one. Thanks again. CC

If they where, I would have a bunch more of they! ;) Best, my friend Blomman
I agree!

To me, that sounds like the best way to get over all top quality and a most cost efficient product made. Today everybody strive for "in-house"... But look at the car industry, look at big champagne manufactures, they buy from the smaller to be able to mak...

More challenging, to find information is like detective work! ;) Thank you, my friend - as you know I always try to find out as much as possible about our beloved tick-tacks. Best Blomman
Did you find a new dial?
By: MTF : August 26th, 2014-17:36
Blomman Did you find a new dial? Was it without numerals on purpose or a reconditioned dial that omitted the numerals? Would they have cut out the numerals ala Panerai or used tritium paint? Finally, are those "fingerprints" of oxidation on the back of th...
I found a dial.
By: blomman Mr Blue : August 27th, 2014-02:07
NOS, but as I wrote, it is not a completed dial. The luminous (tritium) is missing. My guess is that the dial never got completed and put on a shelf to be forgotten until someone decided to sell it to me! :) Yes, the fingerprint on the back is not mine, i...
A question about the non lumed dial
By: cholack : August 27th, 2014-00:33
Hey blomman, I came across a watch completed with the unfinished non tritium dial. As well, the hands were the same shape as yours but again unfinished without the tritium application. What do you make of that? Was were these service parts or just incompl...
Hey Cholack!
By: blomman Mr Blue : August 27th, 2014-02:12
Yes, I also saw that one. The dial is the same as the non completed dial I have (but in bad shape). I do not believe these were service parts. Will send you a PM. Best Blomman
Great presentation Blomman!

It's interesting how the GP has a more "chunky/beefy" look due to the thicker bezel. In that sense the Omega is quite unique! Matt
Thin bezel ....
By: blomman Mr Blue : August 27th, 2014-02:15
Like the Omega is very uncommon. I guess it is more common with larger bezels due to the visibility under water. Thank you, my friend - maybe time for you to add a GP diver to your collection...? ;) Best Blomman

When I see yours!...well could be tempted!...I have looked more at non divers recently...some chronos and a pilot watch found their way home!...now if a nice opportunity shows up...who knows!?... Matt
Chronos...?

Additional info about the numerals on the dial
By: blomman Mr Blue : August 27th, 2014-02:19
Friends, After I wrote this post I put my watch under the microscope and checked. The numerals are painted on top of the tritium. See pic below. Best Blomman ...

Since forgers are getting better, you have to equip yourself with better tools... Na, I got it just to be able to make really big macros. The problem is the light that reflects all over our watches, so the results did become what I wished it to be... But ...
